وأكد المسؤول الأممي بعيد اللقاء على أهمية الروابط القائمة بين مالي وموريتانيا البلدين الجارين وكذلك تجربة موريتانيا في تعاطيها مع الارهاب، و الارتباط الوثيق بين السلم في مالي والسلام في دول المنطقة .
وعبر عن ارتياحه للقاء وقال انه لا يمكن محاربة الارهاب وتحقيق الاستقرار في مالي، بدون تضافر جهود جميع دول شبه المنطقة بما فيها موريتانيا”.
