وسائل غير مسبوقة لمكافحة “إيبولا”
أنباء انفو- وعدت الأمم المتحدة ومنظمة الصحة العالمية السبت باعتماد وسائل “غير مسبوقة” في ليبيريا لمكافحة فيروس إيبولا الذي يهدد مكتسبات عشرة أعوام من السلام في هذا البلد.
وأعلنت ساحل العاج إغلاق حدودها البرية مع اثنين من ثلاثة بلدان طالها الوباء هما ليبيريا وغينيا، في قرار دخل حيز التنفيذ منذ الجمعة “لحماية جميع السكان بمن فيهم الأجانب المقيمون على أراضي ساحل العاج”.
وقال منسق الأمم المتحدة ضد “إيبولا” الطبيب “دافيد نابارو” الذي يقوم بجولة على البلدان المتضررة مع مساعد مدير منظمة الصحة العالمية للأمن الصحي الطبيب كيجي فوكودا أن “هذا الوباء الاستثنائي يتطلب تعبئة غير مسبوقة بكل الأبعاد”.
وأكد نابارو أن التنسيق الجديد المعمول به سيتيح “ضمان توجه الإمكانات الملائمة إلى القطاعات الأكثر حاجة”.
ووعد فوكودا الذي كان نبه الجمعة إلى أن القضاء على الوباء قد يستغرق “بين ستة وتسعة أشهر”، بأن تبني منظمة الصحة وشركاؤها “مراكز عناية إضافية حول مونروفيا بهدف زيادة عدد الأسرة للمصابين بإيبولا حتى 500 في الأسابيع الستة المقبلة”.
وكانت منظمة أطباء بلا حدود التي لها مركز يضم 120 سريرا في مستشفى أيلوا بمونروفيا، أعلنت الخميس عزمها على زيادة هذه القدرة إلى 400 سرير “في الأيام العشرة المقبلة”.
وتحت خيمة في المستشفى نفسه، أقامت المراكز الإتحادية الأميركية للمراقبة والوقاية من الأمراض مختبرا لإجراء الفحوص لتحديد ما إذا كان الفيروس أصاب المرضى أم لا.
وقال أحد منسقي أطباء بلا حدود هنري غراي لفرانس برس “نحصل على نتائج المختبر في ثلاث ساعات. هذا يسمح لنا بتمييز المرضى الذين يظهرون عوارض مماثلة لإيبولا مثل الملاريا “.
وشددت الممثلة الخاصة للأمين العام للأمم المتحدة في ليبيريا كارن لاندغرن على “وجوب معالجة إيبولا في ليبيريا لضمان اقتصاد ومستقبل ومجتمع مستقر” في هذا البلد الذي شهد حربا أهلية استمرت 14 عاما وانتهت رسميا قبل عشرة أعوام تماما.
وقالت لاندغرن الخميس أن “بعثة الأمم المتحدة في ليبيريا ترحب بإعلان الرئيسة في هذا اليوم أن القوة الفتاكة لن تستخدم مجددا في أي ظرف”.
وكانت تشير إلى المواجهات الجمعة التي أصيب خلالها أربعة من سكان ضاحية وست بوينت برصاص جنود كلفوا السهر على احترام إعلان الحجر الصحي في هذا الحي بناء على قرار أصدرته الرئيسة ايلين جونسون سيرليف.
وفي ضربة قاسية للبعثة الأممية التي يعول عليها نابارو لدعم الجهود الدولية، أعلنت الفيليبين السبت أنها ستعيد “في أسرع وقت” جنودها الدوليين ال115 المشاركين في هذه القوة.
وسيواصل المسؤولان الطبيان لاحقا جولتهما في البلدان التي انتشر فيها الوباء بحيث تشمل فريتاون وكوناكري وابوجا.
وخلف الوباء 1427 وفاة على الاقل: 624 في ليبيريا و406 في غينيا و392 في سيراليون وخمس في نيجيريا من أصل 2615 إصابة (مؤكدة أو محتملة او مشتبه بها) بحسب آخر حصيلة لمنظمة الصحة العالمية حتى العشرين من آب/اغسطس.
وأعربت سيراليون المجاورة عن “صدمتها” لعدم تضامن الدول الأفريقية معها وخصوصا أن العديد منها أغلقت حدودها وآخرها الغابون وساحل العاج.
وعلق رئيس اللجنة الرئاسية حول إيبولا إبراهيم بن كارغبو أن “هذا المنع يعطي انطباعا أننا دول منبوذة”.
وقررت الكاميرون السبت تعليق “استيراد اللحوم من الدول التي انتشر فيها الفيروس”.
وفي نيجيريا التي تعتبر الدولة الأقل تأثرا بالوباء الذي أودى بحياة خمسة أشخاص من أصل 16 اصيبوا به، أعلن عن إصابتين جديدتين تعدان أول حالتين “لعدوى من الدرجة الثانية”، إذ أنهما زوجتا رجلين كانا على تماس مع الموظف الليبيري الذي أدخل الفيروس الى البلاد.
وفي مونتريال، تم عزل مريض عائد من غينيا ومصاب بحمى قوية في أحد المستشفيات في انتظار نتائج الفحوص التي ستحدد ما إذا كان مصابا بإيبولا بحسب ما أعلن المستشفى.
وأعلنت دائرة الصحة البريطانية السبت في لندن أنه ثبتت إصابة مواطن بريطاني يقيم في سيراليون بفيروس إيبولا.
