ورد منتخب موريتانيا بأول هجمة مرتدة انتهت بهدف التعادل عن طريق أحمد الشيخ الولي، ثم انتهى الشوط الأول بالتعادل بهدف لمثله.
واستمر تفوق المنتخب الوطني في الشوط الثاني، وأهدر الفرص تباعًا، خاصة عبر خالد النبريص الذي انفرد، وحاول مراوغة حارس منتخب موريتانيا.
كما أهدر البديل جبريل حج يوسف فرصة مؤكدة أنقذها حارس موريتانيا، ثم لم تشهد الدقائق المتبقية أي خطورة لينتهي اللقاء بالتعادل
